Social Value Greece
IDENTITY
Social Value Greece is a network focused on highlighting social impact and promoting social value in every aspect of the daily lives of organizations, businesses, and entities.
Our goal is to change the way social value is assessed. Using social impact assessment methodologies and with the help of our well-trained partners, we provide monitoring and evaluation services for actions in Non-Governmental Organizations, Legal Entities of Public Law, Businesses with Corporate Social Responsibility programs, and any other entity implementing socially targeted programs.
We aim for social impact measurement to become part of the routine of every for-profit or non-profit organization to increase their social impact (and that of their beneficiaries) and reduce social and economic inequality.
Vision & Mission
Vision: Our vision is to create a world where decision-making, strategic planning, and resource allocation are based on the principles of social value and meaningful social impact.
Mission: Our mission is to change the way social value is assessed through:
- Principles: Integrating social, environmental, and economic value into decision-making processes.
- People: Building and supporting a network of individuals who will collaborate with us to implement these principles in practice.
- Practice: Developing guidance, tools, and support to assist in the application of our principles.
- Evolution: Connecting learning with development to build a dynamic network to change how we perceive social impact.
The 7 Principles of Social Value
- Stakeholder Involvement - Stakeholders should actively participate in the study.
- Understand Changes - Articulate how the change impacts stakeholders.
- Value What Matters - Value refers to the relative importance of potential outcomes and is derived from stakeholders' preferences.
- Include What Matters - Determine which information and elements should be included in the assessment.
- Do Not Overclaim - Capture only the value of outcomes for which each activity is genuinely responsible.
- Transparency - Demonstrate the basis on which your analysis is considered valid and sincere.
- Verify Results - Ensure appropriate independent verification.
The SROI Methodology
The Social Return on Investment (SROI) methodology, supported by Social Value Greece, is a process for measuring the social, environmental, and economic value of a project/program/financial year, taking into account the experiences of those directly involved in this action.
It differs from other methods because it assigns accounting value to non-market goods such as quality of life and also takes into account the experiences of those involved.
Who is it for?
Social impact measurement can be conducted by non-profit organizations, social enterprises, public agencies, and even for-profit companies. Each entity has the opportunity to use measurement as a tool for resource management to improve its performance, as a tool for strategic planning, as a means to assess risks, and as a guide to highlight the added social value of its actions.
We collaborate with our members to incorporate the basic principles for measuring and analyzing social value, to improve and share best practices, and to build a strong movement for shaping a culture of social responsibility.
