ROM+

Project Duration: 2024 - 2025

The ROM+ Project: "We Are All Equal" is implemented within the framework of the BUILD program, with Equal Society as the implementing body and the Greek Roma Mediators Association as a partner. BUILD is co-funded by the European Union through the Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) program, the Bodossaki Foundation, and the NGO Support Center.

Description: Despite interventions in recent decades and the adoption of national strategies, Roma in Greece continue to face multiple forms of discrimination. The operation of the Roma Human Rights Advocacy and Defense Observatory since 2021 has confirmed both the many challenges the Roma community faces in all aspects of daily life (employment, education, housing, access to goods and services, etc.), as reflected in relevant literature and research, and the significant extent of racism, discrimination, and stereotypes the Roma community encounters daily.

The project aims to continue collecting, processing, and promoting reports related to human rights violations of the Roma, to relevant authorities, further contributing to the advocacy and protection of Roma human rights.

Target Group: The target group include Roma communities, Ministries, the General Secretariat for Social Solidarity and Poverty Alleviation, the Ombudsman, Community Centers, Municipalities and Regions, public and private organizations, and the general public.
